Alice Sherrill Mingus

Alice Sherrill Mingus 85, of Charlotte, passed away November 19, 2017, with her family by her side.  She was born April 16, 1932, to the late Richard Lee Sherrill and Mary Adkins Sherrill.  She was a former member of Shady Brook Baptist Church and Westmoreland Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker and daycare worker.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Mingus; brother, Richard Arlen Sherrill; and sister-in-law, Betty Sherrill.  She is survived by daughter, Hollie Mingus and son, David Mingus; brothers, Don Sherrill and Joe Sherrill (Betty); and sister, Candy Carson (Paul); and many nieces and nephews.  Services will be conducted by the Rev. Wade Huntsinger at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 375 Woodlawn Avenue, Mt. Holly, NC 28120, on Friday, November 24, 2017.  Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Service will follow at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208, immediately following the service.  Special thanks to Gaston Hospice, especially Marla and Tammie.  Memorial donations may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O.
