Annette "Nett" Robinson Rushing, 81, of Oak Island, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, December 10, 2018. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Elizabeth Mayhue and Emory Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Pauline Redmond and a brother Vernon Robinson. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years Edd Rushing; her children Kenneth Rushing (Brenda), Debra Pitts (Bryan), Randy Rushing (Andra), and Danny Rushing (Deanna); three brothers Bob, Bill, and Junior Robinson; a sister Kathleen Reinhardt; nine grandchildren Chris Rushing, Nic Rushing, Stephanie Rushing, Jennifer Carpenter, Matthew Rushing, Shannon Rushing, Brett Rushing, Cameron Rushing, and Adam Rushing; as well as 16 great-grandchildren. Her Christian faith and love for her husband and family were the cornerstones of her life. A service to celebrate her life officiated by Rev. Arval Rushing and Rev. Nic Rushing, will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Second Baptist Church, 740 Rankin Ave., Mount Holly. The family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service also at the church. Interment will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
