Ashton Taylor Smith

Ashton Taylor Smith, age 21, of Belmont, died Monday, May 28 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  She was born in Gaston County to Jodie Harris and the late Charles Smith.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Peggy Smith.  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Kendall Locke; mother Jodie Harris; maternal grandmother Sandra Parker; maternal great-grandmother JoAnne Austin; paternal grandfather Johnny Smith; brother Charles Joseph Smith; aunts and uncles Ashley Hope, Derek Parker, Dustin Parker, David Smith, Debbie Smith, Ann Smith, and Dianne King; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 pm Friday, June 1 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 until the funeral hour at 1.  Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont.
