Betty Rose (Deitz) Bumgarner

Betty Rose Bumgarner, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Charlie Vandy and Pansy Fox Deitz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Bumgarner; two brothers-in-law, Odell Broome and Henry Nichols; and a nephew, Roddy Broome. She loved all animals and enjoyed spending time on the water, fishing and camping. She is survived by two sisters, Peggy Broome of Gastonia and Shirley Nichols of Iron Station; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express special thanks to the caring and compassionate staff of the Robin Johnson Hospice House. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bumgarner will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly with Pastor Shannon Williams officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherds Way, Dallas, NC 28034.
