Byron Michael Murray

Byron Michael Murray, 54, of Stanley, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Ankara, Turkey to the late Roger Edwin Murray and Billie Jean Homesley Murray.  Byron will be remembered for his love of fishing and his love of sports, namely the Washington Redskins and the Carolina Tarheels.  He also enjoyed Nascar racing and a good game of hockey.  Survivors left to cherish his memory include his two children Michael Murray and Megan Murray; his sister Colleen Sutton and husband David; his niece Hannah Sutton; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held 1:45 pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.  The family will receive friends from noon til 1:30 pm prior to the service at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mt.
