David Preston Brooks

David Preston Brooks, 46, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. David had a heart of gold.  He would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He never met a stranger. David has been in the fire service for 28 years, it was his passion and calling.  David liked to spend his spare time camping or on his motorcycle.  He was a graduate of East Gaston High School and Gaston College. 
 

David was preceded in death by his father, Alex Brooks.  He is survived by his mother Cindy Brooks; his brothers Steven Brooks (Sissy) and Andre Brooks (Andrea); his fiancé, Melissa Auth; his children, Carmen Brooks, Peyton Hill and Joshua Hill; 2 nephews; 4 nieces; 4 aunts and 3 uncles.

A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte at 2700 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina 28203.  Condolence messages may be sent to the family by visiting www.woodlawnfuneral.org.
