Donald Blair Fox, Jr.

Donald Blair Fox, Jr., 60, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Don was born in Mecklenburg County, son of Helen Armstrong Fox Mastko and the late Donald Blair Fox, Sr. In addition to his father, Don was preceded in death by his step-mother, Doris Davis Fox; and his step-sister, Lynn Chavarie. Don earned his BA at Belmont Abbey College and his MBA at Gardner Webb University, along with many certifications in the nuclear energy industry. Don retired after 30 years of service at Duke Power and joined AREVA, Inc. as a project manager. At the time of his death, Don was employed by Duke Energy Corporation as project manager of Generation NERC CIP. 

In addition to his mother, Helen, Don is survived by his wife, Diana Cuervo Fox; his daughter, Samantha Blair Fox; his sister, Kelley Fox; half-sisters, Amy Fox and Barbara "Babs" McBride (John); step-sister, Susan Rogers (Mark); step-brother, Jerry Mauney; step-children, Juan Rosas, Lauren Wilder King (Michael), and Cody Wilder; and step-grandchildren, Lucas and Riley King.

The family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to the entire Hospice organization for their care and compassionate support. 

A memorial service to celebrate Don's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at KIngdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2250 Davis Park Road, Gastonia, NC 28052. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org or a charity of the donor's choice.
