Doris Elizabeth Ballard

Doris "Minnie" Elizabeth Ballard, 74, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Kenneth D. and Margaret McGinnis Ballard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ballard Black and Joyce Kay Hovis. She was retired after working as a surgical RN for over 37 years at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Ballard is survived by her daughter, Leslie Ballard Morris; her brother, Kenneth D. Ballard, Jr., and his wife, Sherry; and her brothers-in law, Ronald E. Black and Billy D. Hovis.  

A service to celebrate the life of Ms. Ballard will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
