Dwaine Horton

Aubrey Dwaine Horton, Jr., of Mount Holly, moved to heaven Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Gastonia with family at his side.  He was born June 9, 1970 in Columbia, SC to Aubrey Dwaine Horton, Sr. and Brenda Honeycutt Horton.  Dwaine graduated from East Gaston High School, Gaston College, and UNCC with degrees in Computer Science.  He was employed by Viewpoint Construction Co. of Portland, OR as a database specialist. In addition to his parents, Dwaine is survived by his sisters Gail Hunter (James) of McDonough, GA, and Louise Green (Dan) and Dian Helms (Tony), both from Mt. Holly; the sunshine's of his life, his nephews and nieces: David Hunter (Brittany), Whitney Burt (Kyle), Chelsea Carter (Tyler), Christian Gonzalez, Zach Green, Nick Green, Lily Grace Helms, and Joshua Earl Helms; and great nephews and nieces: Kaden, Easton, and Aubrey Lee Hunter, Brayden, Rylan and Skylar Burt.  A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am Thursday, March 29 at First Baptist Church in Mount Holly officiated by Rev. Raleigh Castelloe, Dr. Bob Winecoff, and Pastor Dr. Kendell Cameron.  Burial will follow the service in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 28 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Holly First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 385 Mount Holly, NC 28120.
