Frances Rebecca (Stone) Rudisill

Frances Rebecca Stone Rudisill, 86, died January 22, 2018, at Peak Resources in Cherryville.  She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late William Rufus Stone and Carrie Murphy Stone.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Ethan Rudisill, Jr.  Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church in Stanley.  She worked as a secretary at Costner and Lowell Elementary Schools.  She had a love for gardening, road trips, flowers, and last but not least, her grandchildren.  She had a dry wit and love for practical joking.  Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Tracy Rudisill and wife Suzanne of North Augusta, SC.; a daughter, Donna Lail and husband Michael Sr. of Bessemer City; four grandchildren, Matthew, Michael Jr., William and Rebecca, and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Madeline.  A funeral service conducted by the Rev. David McClure will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 217 North Main St., Stanley NC 28164.  The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Peak Resources of Cherryville and Stress Free Home Care of Stanley for their loving care and compassion to Frances during her last days.  Condolence messages may be sent to the family by visiting www.woodlawnfuneral.org.
