J W Bush, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018. He was born in Lincoln County, son of the late Earnest Mack and Lucy May Smith Bush. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Jean Bush; and two brothers, Dean and Jerry Bush. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of New Life Baptist Church in Stanley.

Mr. Bush is survived by his children, Sandra Jones and husband, Mike of Stanley, and Tony Bush and wife, Kim of Alexis; a grandson, Chad Jones and wife, Kristin of Mount Holly; four sisters, Ruth Brendle, Faye Burch, Lee Eubanks, and Trisha Ramsey; and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Cason.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bush will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with Reverend David McClure officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until noon at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepards Way Dr., Dallas, NC 28034. Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is serving the family.
