Born November 24, 1950 in Staten Island, New York to Lalo Joseph Reyes and Gloria Spauone Reyes, Joseph was an Automatic Transmission Specialist throughout his career just as his father was. My sister said it best: During the final weeks of his life our Dad was moving forward in life and spiritually as he had a renewed sense of hope and excitement for what the future was going to bring. He held no resentment, was humble and our hearts were full of the possibilities! We loved and adored our father. He was a big kid but he was our big kid. He loved sports, loved dancing; of course his first love was his three daughters but his second love was golf. Our dad had a huge heart, he would literally give the last dollar he had to someone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, dad Lalo (Papa) Joseph Reyes and mom Gloria (Mama) Spauone Reyes and a nephew Daniel Joseph Westfall. He is survived by his three daughters Angela Benjes and husband David of Charlotte, NC, Tammy Ellis and husband Trent of Spartanburg, SC and Shana House and husband Chris of Albemarle, NC. Along with his grandchildren Allysa Reyes, Collin Richardson, Destin Benjes, Rebecca & AJ LaRiviere, Dillon House, Lukas & Landon Ellis. His sisters Angela Bright and husband Grant of Tucson, AZ, Dolores Davis of Gainesville, FL, Adel Gambrell and husband Hugh of Mt Holly, NC and Glorine (Sami) Hopps and husband Allen of Houston, TX. His brother Richard Reyes of Wells, TX. Numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Acts 24:15 – And I have a hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
John 5:28,29 – Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…
Revelation 21:4 – And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning or outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
We extend our love to the family and friends who loved him, and look forward to the day when the above scriptures are fulfilled!
