Lorene Elizabeth Lawing, 87, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2018. She was born in Belmont, NC, daughter of the late Ford and Callie Williams.
She loved her family deeply and lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her husband, Jefferson Ray Lockman "Jake"; her children, Susan Heath (Jimmy), Deborah Tucker (Ed), and Cynthia Tilley (Kent); two brothers, Harold Williams (Nadine) and Joey Williams; her grandchildren, Shelly, Tommy (Stacy), Jamie (Addie), Shannon (Andrea), Jessie (Michael), Grant, and Dalton; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many dear and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Lawing.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lawing will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she attended. Dr. Danny Penny and Rev. Jimmy Tilley will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 pm on Wednesday at the church.
