Lucille (Kirby) Scarborough

Lucille Kirby Scarborough, age 96, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Henry and Myrtle Pennell Kirby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Carlton Scarborough; and five siblings. She attended both Goshen Free Will Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church, Mount Holly.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Miller, James Scarborough, Deidre Walker and husband, Don, and David Scarborough, and wife, Becky; a brother, Charles Kirby; sisters-in-law, Frances Frady and Dot Kirby; 11 grandchildren; and 13.5 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Scarborough will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly with Rev. Don Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
