Mary Lou Hewitt Jenkins, 86, died February 21, 2018 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born in Oak Park, Georgia; daughter of the late James and Mae Atkinson Hewitt, and was preceded in death by her husband Little Ben (L.B.) Jenkins, a son Archie Jenkins, a daughter Doris Wooten, and six sisters Juanita Hoffman, Louise Brown, Shirley Mayhew, Ruth Simmons, Bernice Dalton, and Doris Jones

She was a member of Craig Memorial Baptist Church in Stanley.

Survivors include two daughters Charlene Helms and husband Vester of Stanley, Glenda Click and husband Walter of High Shoals, a son Ricky Jenkins and wife Elizabeth of Stanley, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren

A graveside service conducted by Reverend Billy Dunigan will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.
