Mollie Christine Perkins Caldwell, 95, of Gastonia, went home to meet the Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Peak Resources in Gastonia. She was born in Lincoln County, daughter of the late John and Tennie Lawing Perkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Rev. Glenn H. Caldwell, Sr; brothers Frank, Taft, Carven, Rose, Blain, Lee, and Joe Perkins; and sisters Betty Cash, Lodie Cash, Connie Brown, Sadie Beal, Ada Mundy. Those left to cherish her memory include her children Glenn Caldwell, Jr and his wife Gail, Sybil Caldwell Kee, and Ronald Caldwell and his wife Darlene; grandchildren Karen Lamphier, Steve Caldwell, Rodney Caldwell, Jenna Hannahs, Stacy Cogdill, Erica Robinson, Merodie Wensil, Abby Hovis, Matt Hamrick, and Brad Hamrick; 23 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. A service to celebrate her life will be held 3:30 pm Sunday, October 14 at Pearl Baptist Church, 4657 NC-27, Iron Station, with Rev. Dr. Danny Penny, Rev. Doug Bryant, and Rev. Hugh Whitfield officiating. The family will greet guests from 2 to 3:30 pm prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be held on Monday at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
