Ozell Dean Thomas

Ozell Dean Thomas, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Abner Hoyle Thomas and Eva Smith Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery H. Thomas; and a brother, Andrew G. Auten. She was a former member of Second Baptist Church, Mount Holly.

She is survived by her children, Kelly Gene Thomas, and his wife, Jerri and Melissa (Lisa) Payne; her sisters, Pauline A. Ottinger, Lorenia A. Perkins, Edna M. Dunn, and Louella Thomas; her brothers, Douglas F. Thomas (Alice) and Vernon E. Thomas (Sue); her grandson, Brandon Payne (Summer); great-grandson, Joshua Revels; and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Ms. Thomas will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Goshen Cemetery, Belmont. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
