Paul Johnson, Jr.

Paul (Pop) Johnson, Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Paul and Gaynelle Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane McQuay and Geraldine Doby. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he retired after 22 years of service. He was a proud member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA).

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Lamb Johnson; his children, Dayna Johnson Herrick and husband, Joseph of Stanley, Kenneth Johnson of Clover, SC, and Bryan Johnson and wife, Jennifer of Denver, NC; his siblings, Daniel Johnson and wife, Phyllis, George Johnson and wife, Diane, and Jackie Johnson Taylor; and nine grandchildren.

A private service to celebrate the life of Mr. Johnson will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Tribute to the Troops of NC by visiting www.tributetothetroops.org. Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is serving the family.
