Pearl Lee (Welch) Summey

Pearl Lee Welch Summey, 99, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late William "Bud" Coleman Welch and Carrie Hovis Welch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper V. Summey; her sisters, Edna Eades and Anna Mae Ross; and her brothers, James, Leonard and Frank Welch. She was a member of Christ's Lutheran Church of Stanley.

She is survived by her daughters, Martha Jean McIntosh (Maurice) and Nettie Ruth Ridge (Dennis); 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margaret Welch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Summey will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Christ's Lutheran Church of Stanley, with Pastor Wesley Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
