Ralph Daniel Walters, 82, of Mount Holly, died Monday, June 25 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. He was born in Union County a son of the late Bessie Taylor and Brady Walters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances Hall Walters, five brothers, and two sisters. Ralph served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Denver. Those left to cherish his memory include his children Allen B. Walters, Todd D. Walters, Cynthia Hooks, Jeff Sample, and Mark Sample; two sisters Frances Ann Arant and Sabina Medlin; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. A service to celebrate his life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, June 30 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
