Randall Scott Ballard, Sr.

Randall Scott Ballard, Sr., age 51, of Mount Holly, died on May 24, 2018 in Salisbury.  Randy is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dondra Hinson Ballard of Mount Holly; his daughters, Laura Jean Ballard and Macy Elizabeth Ballard of the home; his son, Scott Ballard of Charlotte; his grandmother, Ellen Friday Ballard of Stanley; his brothers Eric Ballard of Stanley and Mike Ballard of Vale; four nieces and nephews Matthew, Mindy, Erica, and Huston Ballard.  Randy was preceded in death by his father Huston Ballard; his mother Wanda Ballard; his grandfather Forrest Ballard.  Randy was born on February 15, 1967.  He graduated from East Gaston High School in 1985.  He received his Associates degree in Heating and Air and welding certification from Gaston College.  Randy worked as a welder for Gaston County Dye for 12 years.  He then became a long distance truck driver, most recently with Auto Truck Transport.  Randy was a father and husband who was loved by his family.  A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 375 Woodlawn Avenue, Mt. Holly.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church of Stanley, 217 N. Main Street, Stanley, NC 28164, designated for the food pantry.
