Renee Smith Porter

Renee Smith Porter, 58, of Charlotte, died Monday, July 30, 2018 at CMC - Main, Charlotte.  She was born in McDowell County, daughter of Shirley Buchanan Smith and the late Robert Stewart Smith.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Robert Hand Porter, Jr.; her children Jennifer Lorene Porter and Robert Hand Porter, III and his wife Heather; grandchildren Sharrandon Adams, Jr and his wife Victoria, Tionna Adams, Alana Porter, Robert Stewart Porter, and Hayden Dean Porter; great-grandson Jaidyn Adams; two sisters Catherine Nivens and Robin Foxwell; two aunts Freedith Earnhardt and Linda Church; and niece Tracy Randall.  A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mt. Holly.  Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, also at the funeral home.
