Robert Pinson Obituary

Robert Colan Pinson, 86, of Mount Holly, died Saturday, November 17, 2018.  He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Rufus Floyd and Essie Williams Pinson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Moore Pinson, a brother Walter, and a sister Kathryn.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served in the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 144.  He had a love for fishing and was a loyal Tarheels fan.  Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters Robyn Crews and her husband Michael, Marla Dehr, and Terri Sumner and her husband Jim; six grandchildren Matt Crews and his wife Jessica, Carey Crews, Tanner Crews, Chris Dehr and his wife Natalie, Lindsay Dehr, and Devin Ingle; as well as six great-grandchildren Parker, Aubrey, Reed, Madison, Jacob, and Ava.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte.  The family will greet guests on Friday, November 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robin Johnson Hospice House, P.O. Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28053.
