Russell "Rusty" Dean Ennis

Russell “Rusty” Dean Ennis, 57, died Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.  He was born in Gaston County, son of Shirley G. Parker and the late Dallas Dean Ennis.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister Diana Elasmar.  Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Cynthia “Cyndi” Summitt Ennis; children Rev. Jimmy Pearson, Melanie Addis (Joey), and Vienna Hays (Cameron); grandchildren Kendall Grace Addis and Cooper Joseph Addis; brother Cliff Ennis; sister Janice Bashneer; and his fur baby Macie Belle.  A service to celebrate Rusty’s life, officiated by Rev. Jack Ford, Rev. C.L. Simmons, and Rev. Jimmy Pearson, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 26 at Ranlo Church of God, 1825 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the funeral hour at 2, also at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ranlo Church of God.
