Sara L Collette

Sara Littlejohn Collette, 83, passed away April 27, 2019 at her Alexis residence.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Collette.  On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, the family will receive friends in the worship center at Parkwood Baptist Church, Gastonia, NC, beginning at 5:00 pm.  A service, lead by her family, will follow at 7:00 pm.  The family will hold a private burial on May 1, 2019.

Sara was devoted to her family as a Mama, Memaw and Grandma.  She left four children, Judy Stevenson (late David), Beth Lawing (Rodney), Kimberly Looney (Travis) and Joel Collette (Susie) to cherish her memory and loving presence in their lives.  Sara also left ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was very proud of all of her children and grandchildren and lived a tireless example of sacrificial love for them.  Her greatest desire for all of them was that they may personally know Jesus Christ as Savior and faithfully serve Him.

Known to all as a godly, kind, and loving person, Sara served her Savior through devotion to his church and the ministry of his Gospel.  She blessed the lives of others through the speaking of encouraging words, the sending of cards, the lending of a listening ear, and the giving of her own modest monetary/material possessions.  Many were also blessed by her lifetime service as pianist or organist in whatever church she served.  Most recently, she served at Craig Memorial Baptist Church, Stanley, NC, for twenty-one years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
