Timothy Allen Featherstone

Timothy Allen Featherstone, 73, of Mount Holly, died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Stanley Total Living Center.  He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Thelma Juanita Owenby and Clarence Winford Featherstone.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Belmont Abbey College.  Tim retired after 32 years as a school teacher where he taught shop with Gaston County Schools in Stanley.  He also coached Basketball and Golf during his teaching tenure and was referred to as Coach by many of his students.  He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Stanley, a member of the Mt. Holly Masonic Lodge, and a member of Mt. Holly Jaycees.  He had a long time love of old classic cars.  Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years Ann Harris Featherstone; a son Scott Featherstone and his wife Cindy; two brothers Danny Joe Feathersone and his wife Pamela and Ronnie Ervin Featherstone and his wife Karen; two grandsons Tyler Featherstone and Steven Jones; a son-in-law Brian Jones; and his lifelong friend Bill Poole.  A service to celebrate Tim's life will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.  The family will greet guests beginning at Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
