William David "Bill" Cox, 69, of Mount Holly, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. He was born in Gaston County to the late William Barber Cox and Juanita Cothran Cox. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a great cook and enjoyed feeding the Women’s Shelter and the Boy’s and Girl’s Club. He was a huge beach music fan which is how and where he met his wife dancing to beach music. Bill was a huge tarheel fan. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Jannette; his daughter Wendy Brignull and her husband Ross; a granddaughter Cora O'Keefe and her husband Josh and a grandson Gavin Lodge; as well as two brothers Steve Cox and Walter Cox and his wife Janet. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Myers Memorial United Methodist Church, 301 S. New Hope Road in Gastonia. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service also at the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Myers Memorial United Methodist Church.
