Aileen Walden Harpe

Aileen Walden Harpe, 91, a lifelong resident of greater Charlotte died Tuesday June 7, 2022 at Aldersgate United Methodist Retirement Community.

She was born in Union County, Monroe, North Carolina on January 22, 1931, only child of the late Eula Horne Walden and Arthur V. Walden.

Survivors include : son, Ronald Wayne and his wife, Donna, of Silver City, New Mexico. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Quillian Harpe, and one son, Larry Walden Harpe.

Aileen graduated from Prospect High School, Union County in 1949 as Valedictorian of her class. She graduated from National School of Commerce. She worked at Ivey's downtown and then transitioned to Dillard's until her retirement in 1995.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Coulwood, the Glenn Lackey Sunday School Class, Life Member of United Methodist Women, member of the Ruth Rudisill Circle and the first Secretary of Christ United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Chapter No. 151 O.E.S., of which she was Past Worthy Matron.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 20, 2022 at Forest Lawn Cemetery West, conducted by the Reverend Donnie Mitchem.

Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.
