Alene "Dean" Wilson Bell, 92, met Jesus face to face on Friday, January 19, 2024 with her granddaughter by her side. She was born in Gaston County to the late Beecher Wilson and Bessie Thompson Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Scott Bell; a grandson, Lathan Bell; as well as two brothers and three sisters. Alene was a truly devout Christian who loved the Lord with all of her heart. She wanted everyone to know Jesus. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church for 25 years. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Those left to cherish memory include her sweetheart and husband of 73 years, Jim; her granddaughters, Amber Carpenter and Ariel Botts; great grandchildren, Leland Botts, Haiden Posey, Landen Posey, and Lukas Posey; sisters, Pat Teno and Sue Benfield; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her wonderful life, officiated by Pastor Rick Ivey, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Berea Baptist Church, 2522 Hickory Grove Road, Gastonia. Interment will conclude in the church cemetery.
