Alva" Christine" Rudisill, a beloved lifelong resident of Dallas, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on Friday, February 11, 1938, she spent her entire life in the community she adored. Born in Gaston County, Christine was a proud graduate of Dallas High School. She spent her career as a skilled sewing operator in the textiles industry, a testament to her dedication and craftsmanship. Her love for her community was evident through her lifelong membership at the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Stanley. She was an active participant in the "Young at Heart" group and delighted in playing Bingo in the Town of Stanley.
Christine had a passion for canning, cooking, planting, and nurturing beautiful flowers. Her love for cats was well known, as was her devotion to tending to her sweet mother, Claribel Rudisill, in her later years. Her love for family was limitless, and she was always eager to extend a helping hand.
Preceded in death by her father, Joseph E. Rudisill; mother, Claribel Rudisill; siblings Elizabeth Rhyne, Louise Alexander, J.E. Rudisill Jr., Gordon Rudisill, Marcus Rudisill, and an infant brother; as well as her niece, Gayle Rhyne, Christine leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be cherished by those who survive her.
She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Maria Morgan, Gordon Rudisill (Tina), Terry Stamey (Kermit), Wanda Fowler (James), Linda R. Love (Chuck), Tracy Rudisill (Suzanne), Paul Alexander, Donna Lail, John Rhyne Jr., Alice Rhyne, and Cathy Harrison. Alva also leaves behind 16 great-nieces and nephews, 19 great-great-nieces and nephews, and one precious great-great-great- nephew.
A funeral service to celebrate Christine's life will be held at First United Methodist Church - Common Ground on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11 a.m with a visitation after the service where family and friends can gather to honor and remember Christine. Following the visitation , she will be laid to rest at Stanley Cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Stanley Total Living Center for their compassionate care. Arrangements are entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christine's memory to the First United Methodist Church of Stanley, reflecting her lifelong devotion to her faith and community.
