Amy Tweed Obituary

Amy Sedberry Tweed
September 10, 1966 - March 2, 2026

It is with profound shock and unimaginable heartbreak that the family of Amy Sedberry Tweed (59) announces that on March 2, 2026 in Asheville NC, Amy was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amy was taken from us too soon leaving a void that can never be filled. The circumstances of her passing were sudden, unexpected, & tragic & we are grieving her deeply.
Amy was born on September 10, 1966 at Camp Lejeune NC to Ssgt. & Mrs. Jerald Winslow Sedberry. Amy grew up in Concord NC & graduated from Concord High School. After graduating high-school, Amy attended UNC Chapel Hill & transferred to UNC Charlotte where she earned her BA from UNC Charlotte on December 17, 1988 & went on to earn her MA in Counseling & Guidance from UNC Charlotte on December 17, 1994. She was also a member Chi Sigma lota & Phi Kappa Phi. Early in her career Amy worked as a school guidance counselor & later on transitioned to work directly with small children as a daycare director & went on to become a district manager for a large daycare network. Amy had a passion for children & a heart for those less fortunate.
Amy was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, & friend. She found the most joy in life by helping others. Amy found that the simple things in life brought her the most peace. She loved to grow plants, especially indoor varieties. Amy loved to share & when her summer garden was ready to harvest she couldn't wait to share with everyone she knew especially the women in her mom's neighborhood. She loved showing up & delivering produce to all of her mom's neighbors.
Amy was an amazing woman. She always put others first & counted it as a blessing when she could help others. Amy was blessed with a brilliant mind & could solve almost any problem that was thrown her way. She was the type of person that showed her love by the way she treated others. She was her mom's best friend & was always there when her mother needed her. Words cannot express what Amy meant to so many people. Where there was a need, Amy would find it & be there to provide. She had a special place in her heart for her neighbor Darrell Roseman & was always there to help when he needed it.
Amy was married on April 15 2023 to the love of her life, Bryan Tweed. They spent 15 years together & Bryan finally proposed on 12/24/22 & thankfully for Bryan, Amy said yes. Amy loved being married, taking care of Bryan, & was an amazing home maker. Amy thrived with arts & crafts & was a masterful re-purposer. Amy enjoyed spending time with Bryan outside on her back porch watching their garden grow. She was a beautiful woman inside & out. One of the principles Amy lived by was to choose your words wisely; they are powerful, because they can build a person up or tear them down. Amy lived with integrity, honor, & self discipline. Amy influenced all those she came in contact with by how she lived her life. Amy was a natural born leader. She set the example & when others would follow her lead, amazing things would happen. . She was a meticulous planner. She chose her steps wisely & followed through with whatever she ventured out to do.
Words cannot express the pain that her passing has caused, but we all know Amy loved Jesus & she is now home with her Lord and Savior. Amy was preceded in death by her Father Jerald Winslow Sedberry, her Nanny Crouch, & her aunt and uncle Mike & Julia Burris. Amy is survived by her husband Bryan Tweed of the home, her Mother Marry-Ann Sedberry of Concord, her sister Angie Olear (Marc) of Concord, her in laws Michelle Tweed Whisenant and her husband Randall of Kernersville NC, several cousins and her beloved dog Mikey.
