Ann Burns Ballard, 85, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at her home. She was born in Rutherford County, daughter of the late June and Georgia Martin Burns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thad H. Ballard; her sister, Pat Burns Camp; and her brother, Bobby Burns.
Mrs. Ballard is survived by her children, Thad T. Ballard (Leslie Walker), Myra Martin (Nathan), and Patricia Stadler (Robert); grandchildren, Jason Martin (Tina), Adam Kirkland (Beverly), Matthew Kirkland (Lisa), Amanda Kirkland, Thad Nolan Ballard, Linden Ballard, and Ashlyn Glore; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald Burns; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ballard's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the care provided to her by her doctor, Derek Reed; her nurses, Victoria and Angie; and her caregivers, Pam, Sherry, and Loretta.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ballard will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
