Annette "Ann" Mullis Waldrop, 88, left earth peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC. Ann was born to the late Wade and Geneva Mullis of Gaston County on March 25, 1937. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ted "Ozz" Waldrop, and brother Wayne Mullis. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Jon Waldrop, and his partner Sandy Crago of Charlotte, and Leslie Anderson of Reidsville, NC, as well as her brother James Mullis, and sister Sandra Avery and husband Joe. She loved her forever best friend, Melanie Mills, and her precious nieces and nephews.
Ann retired from DuPont Company after 32 years in various administrative positions and worked as a travel agent for AAA Travel agency. Traveling was her passion, and she enjoyed camping with Ozz visiting all 50 states, and most National Parks. She traveled to Canada, Europe, and Russia as well. She was an honor student and Junior Marshall at West Mecklenburg and attended business college and CPCC taking classes from Art to Yoga. She was very active in the YMCA and competed in the Senior Games/Silver Arts in Charlotte, winning awards for her painting, photography and literary arts. She was able to live in the home she and Ozz built together for almost 68 years before moving to Morningside of Gastonia in January of this year.
A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 2 pm, Pastor Jeff Hicks officiating.
