Barbara Ann Hoffman Emmett, age 86, of Mount Holly, passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024. She was born on Sunday, September 19th, 1937, to the late Everette and Elizabeth Robinson Hoffman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Emmett; her infant son, Lawson L. Smith; her siblings, Jimmy Hoffman, Jean Wilson, Becky Hager, Hugh Hoffman, and Eddie Hoffman; and her ex-husband and father of her children, John B. Smith, Jr.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She had a kind and generous spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Woodworking was one of her many hobbies.
Those left to cherish Barbara's memory are her children, Mark Smith (Karen), Melissa Parker (Martin), Allen Smith, and Linda Willey (Fletcher); her grandchildren, Joshua Smith (Nikki), Jessica Miller (Jason), Dillon Smith (Brandi), James Lawson Parker, Aaron Smith (Savannah), and Johnnie Willey (Katie); her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Arya, Brielle, Noah, Maxon, Atleigh, Kori, Kaitlyn, Kendal, Jack, Hunter, and Layla; her brother, Hoyle Hoffman (Nancy); and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. for friends and family to pay their respects.

Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her dedication to helping others. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
