Bennett Wilson Taylor Jr., age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday July 4th, 2024 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. He was born in Florence, SC and was the son of the late Bennett Taylor Sr., and Gertrude Kiser Taylor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Chris Taylor, and his sister Betty Taylor Stowe.
He spent his career as an entrepreneur and was the founder of several companies including Gentle Ben's Cleaning Systems, Environmental Process Systems Inc. and Gentle Bens Auto Sales. He was an active member of Crossroads Church where he was especially known for smoking Boston Butts to raise money for the Church. He was known as a man that would help anyone during their time in need and leading others to the Lord. He loved his entire family and will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Elaine Gantt Taylor; his son Eric Taylor; grandchildren: Jessica Taylor, Justin Cornwell, Matthew Taylor, and Bennett Taylor III; great grandchildren: Evan, Emily, Ryland, Kayden, Tatum, and their adopted daughter Gregg Parker, as well as his special friends Chad Adams and Lynn Robinson.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday July 8, 2024 at Crossroads Church in Belmont. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday also at the Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Gaston Hospice.
