Betty Secrest Theel

Betty Secrest Theel, age 84 went home to be with her Lord on Saturday September 2, 2023 at her home. She was born in Union County and was the daughter of the late Miles and Lillie Mae Secrest. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Theel Sr., as well as her siblings: Mary Lou Irwin, Dot Murphy, Milene Williams, Buddy Secrest and Sue Featherstone. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Floyd Theel Jr., Scottie Lamar Theel (Connie), Norma Jean Theel, and Cutler Alden Theel; her grandchildren: Timothy Theel, Christie Wells (Zack), Samantha Holmes (Steven), Nathaniel Theel (Karen), Brittany McCullen, and Brooklin Theel; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother that loved reading her Bible, listening to her pastor preach, playing word puzzles, shamrocks, scratch offs, and watching her favorite show Heartland and enjoyed sitting on her front porch rocking .She never met a stranger and would give you anything. She was best known as "NANA" to everyone with a smile on her face with an "I Love You and come back anytime." A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday September 6, 2023 at Berea Baptist Church Cemetery, Gastonia.
