Bobby Ray Wall, age 89, passed away on December 9, 2021 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born in Marion county and was the son of the late Otis and Myrtle Wall. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Dull Wall, a brother Clifton Wall Jr., and two sisters Betty Ledford and Patricia Burleson. Bobby proudly served his country as Staff Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War and was active in his community for many years with the Shriner's Association, the Salvation Army, and a Boy Scouts Master. He was also an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Belmont In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, traveling to Mrytle Beach and the Mountains and most of all cheering on the UNC Tar Heels. Those left to cherrish his memory include his children Bobby M Wall, Timothy Wall (Tina), Debra O'Donoghue (PeeWee), Clifton Wall (Susan), and Jessica Penninger(EJ); Grandchildren: Kimberly Miller, Jenifer Salber, Jamie O'Donoghue, Christopher Wall, Laura Nielson, Kristin Wall, Hayden Wall, Ryan Nicholson, Ella Peninger, Stephanie Martin, and Brooke Dellinger, twelve great-grandchildren, his two sisters: Sarah Johnson, and Carolyn Banning, and a special daughter-in-law Debbie Wall. A service to celebrate Bobby's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday December 18, 2021 at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Belmont. The visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. also at the Church. A family service will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gaston Hospice at 258 E. Garrison Blvd. Gastonia, NC 28054.
