Brenda Sue (Owens) Lawing

Brenda Owens Lawing, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday June 21, 2025. Mrs. Lawing was born January 15, 1945 in Gaston County, NC to the late Price Owens and Mildred Carver Owens. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Lawing, her daughter Deborah Rose; her siblings: Wylie Owens, Alice Lambert, and Thomas Owens, as well as her brother in law James Houston.
She was a longtime former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte where she and Jerry served their Lord in many ways. She loved her entire family and will be missed dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Jerry Doster, and daughter Gail Bryson; her siblings: Patricia Houston, Johnny Owens (Toni), and Ronald Owens (Cheryl), her grandchildren: Penny, Will, Robin, Teresa, and Tommy; 12 great grandchildren as well as one great great grandchild.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte.
