Brenda (Van Dyke) Russell

Brenda Van Dyke Russell, 78, of Mount Holly, met Jesus face to face Monday, January 3, 2022. She was born in Gaston County to the late Rev. John Alexander Van Dyke and Addie Woods Van Dyke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Walter Russell, Sr., and eight of her siblings. Brenda was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Belmont where she served as President. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Theresa Darsow and her husband Barry, Robert Russell, Jr., Sonya Kastner and her husband Wade, and John Russell; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; her sister, Charleen Gilbert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Full Gospel Church, 106 School Street, Belmont, NC 28012. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Full Gospel Church. Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
