Kay Vernon Truitt, 77, met her lord and savior with open arms on January 9, 2025. Kay was the daughter of the late Broadus Wayne and Lorena Burgin Vernon. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Wayne and Gene Vernon and a sister-n-law Debbie Vernon.
Kay is survived by husband Curtis Truitt, two loving daughters Kimberly Bush(Tony), Wendy Nicholson, her brothers Terry Vernon( Debbie), Timmy Vernon, sister Cynthia Rabon, Nephews, Shea Vernon, Landon (Shay) Vernon, niece Jessica(Rob), great-nephew Waylon Vernon and sister-n-law Ginger Truitt.
Kay was a devoted caretaker to all she loved. Kay made sure she took care of the people around her. She baked and enjoyed crafting and often knew that it was the simple things in life that bring the sweetest smiles. When summer rolled around, you could find Kay heading down to the beach, one of her favorite spots to relax, but somehow she always ended up back in her hometown of Alexis, where her girls were. Kay's beautiful smile and sweet heart will be missed by her family and all who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Alexis on Wednesday January 15, 2024 at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends prior from 11am-12pm at Mt.Zion. A burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Reverend Nathan Morton will be officiating.
