It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Calvin Thomas, who departed this life on July 4th, 2026, at the age of 98.
Calvin lived a life filled with love, kindness, and compassion. To know him was to know a person who always welcomed others with a warm smile, a listening ear, and an open heart. He had a special way of making everyone feel like family and found joy in the simple moments spent with those he loved most.
Above all else, Calvin cherished family. He was a devoted father, Papaw, life partner, a friend whose greatest happiness came from caring for and encouraging those around him. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Calvin enjoyed working with his hands, flying planes and working on them and his many businesses in Mt Holly. He was in the United States Navy and was also a Free Mason as well as a Shriner. He created countless memories that will be treasured forever. His laughter, strength, gentle spirit, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
While our hearts grieve this earthly goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that Calvin’s faith carried him throughout his life. We take peace in believing that he is now resting in the loving presence of the Lord, where there is no more pain or sorrow, only everlasting peace.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the Mother of his Children Evelyn Thomas, his life partner Barbara Heartness, his daughter Debbie Thomas Watson.
Calvin is survived by his daughter Sandy Gantz ,his son Ronnie Stowe (Vanessa),granddaughters Crystal Ramsey, Georgia Gantz, Tabitha Goforth His great-granddaughters MaKenzie Rodgers (Brandon), Payton Settlemyre, Madison Mullins, Evelyn Mullins and his weenie dog Tiny.
