Carolyn Mary Abernathy Fisher, 82, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Fred Calvin Abernathy and Mary Beatrice Finger Abernathy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd "Tink" Edward Fisher; her sisters, Betty Merrill Caldwell and Judy Diane Helms; and her brother, Robert Lee Abernathy. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Revival Tabernacle, Stanley. She enjoyed playing senior BINGO.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her children, Teresa Bynum and fiance', John Buhl, Rick Lingerfelt and wife, Karen, Sandy Farrow and wife, Debbie, and Lisa Michelle Fisher; her brothers, Benny Calvin Abernathy and wife, Joyce and Miller "Gene" Bailey Abernathy and wife, Anna; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Jennifer Hanna, Louise Falter, and Linda Elliott; and her fur baby, Dolly.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Fisher will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Pastor John Mayberry will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Mauney Cemetery, Stanley. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
