Charles Richard Felts

We are truly saddened to announce the passing of our dearly beloved husband, father, brother, Charles Richard Felts. Richard was born on November 16, 1947 in Pearisburg, Virginia to Malcom Garfield and Helen Power Felts. his family relocated to Charlotte when he was a young child. He attended school there and graduated from Garringer High School in 1966. He spent 27 years working at the Cato distribution center in Charlotte, from where he retired in 2011. Richard loved the beach and fishing at Garden City where he went every year. He also loved all sports, especially Carolina Panthers football and Carolina Tarheels basketball. Richard married at a young age and had four children by his first wife and two children by his second wife. The third time was the charm when he married Rose Sledge Whitesell in 1996 and moved to Mount Holly for a happy, tranquil 27 years, both truly blessed by God to find each other in mid-life. Richard was preceded in death by his mother and father and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife Rose of the home. Also surviving are brother and sister-in-law Norman and Dea Felts of Mooresville, NC, sisters and brothers-in-law Betty and Howard Parker of Mooresville, NC, and Joy and Jimmy Pressley of Iron Station, NC. Also surviving are children Tammy Rogers and husband Ed of Monroe, NC, Mark Felts and wife Francis of Monroe, NC, Tesha Newman of Charlotte, NC, Matthew Felts of Charlotte, NC, Christopher and wife Kristi of Denver, NC, and Tiffany Felts of Cramerton, NC. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Richard loved all of his children and family and loved God. He wanted everyone to be at peace with each other. We know this time of suffering and distress will result in God's richest blessing and we look forward to the Joys in heaven where we'll be together for eternity. May you rest in peace and know you were greatly loved and set a good example for many people by your honesty and hard work.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Felts will be held at 11:00 am on February 8, 2023 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly, NC. The family will greet guests immediately following the memorial service.
