Charles Frank Lane

Charles Frank Lane, age 79, passed away on November 15, 2021.  He was born in Mecklenburg county, son of the late Willie and Jessie Lane.  Charles was a member of West Mecklenburg Baptist Church where he loved and served the lord with his whole heart.   He will be missed dearly by his family, especially his wife whom he always put first.  He retired from Duke Energy as a lineman after thirty four years of service and also worked at Triangle Rent A Car for nine years during retirement.  Charles was also a die hard fan of both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his six sisters, two nieces: Cindy and Carolyn Burch as well as his brother in law Jerry Slawter.  Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty three years Faye Lane, a sister in law Barbara Slawter, two nephew's:William "Buddy" Burch, and Jerry Slawter Jr.;  a niece Debbie Edwards and nephew Kenneth Edwards, a great niece Heather Burch, a great great nephew Timothy Burch, and his special friends David Simmons and Randy Stewart.  A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday November 19, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont with the Rev. Lester Bledsoe officiating.  Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly.
