"Chuck" as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was the youngest son of the late Ralph and Willie Monaghan of Charlotte, NC. He attended Harding High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Chuck was employed by his friend Tommy Beacham at Beacham Drywall, he was highly skilled at his trade and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed grilling out and was a great cook. He loved NASCAR, The Carolina Panthers, The Andy Griffith Show and the Monaghan's favorite team, The LSU Tigers. Chuck was a "Westsider", he maintained friendships with those he grew up within Ashley Park for his whole life. They will remember him for his witty sense of humor, great personality, his funny stories and just being "Crazy Chuck". Chuck loved his grandchildren and had a special bond with each of them, especially his grandson Landon who helped care for him after his stroke in 2017. He had a close relationship with his son in law Tim, they enjoyed golfing together, racing and watching sports, Tim was not only his son in law but his best buddy. Chuck is survived by his loving daughter Hillary Monaghan Wimbish and her husband Tim, his grandchildren Landon, Chase, Presleigh and Gavin. He is also survived by his brothers Larry (Elaine) Monaghan and family, Eddie (Teresa) Monaghan and family, Hillary's mother Rhonda Monaghan and her daughter Harleigh Monaghan, as well as numerous cousins.
