Charles Thomas “Chuck” Elmore, 56, of Alexis, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2026.
Born on November 21, 1969, Chuck lived a life defined by service, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those around him. He was a man who could truly do it all—whether repairing just about anything put in front of him or mastering the latest technology with ease, Chuck’s talents were as remarkable as his generous spirit.
Chuck devoted many years of his career to Class A building facility management before transitioning into OSHA compliance management later in life. Beyond his professional accomplishments, his heart was firmly rooted in service to others. For over 20 years, he volunteered with the Mount Holly Life Saving Crew, which later became Mount Holly Fire & Rescue. At the time of his passing, he proudly served as a sitting board member, continuing his lifelong commitment to helping his community. He also worked over 10 years at Woodlawn Funeral Home as a funeral attendant (and more).
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Shirley Allred Elmore and Charles “Aldean” Elmore and his aunt, Kathy Whitener.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of nearly 29 years, Carol Elmore, who was the love of his life. Chuck also leaves behind his cherished “fur babies,” Jed, Bella, Arnold, and Avery—his constant companion who will miss him dearly—as well as his beloved bird rescues, Fred, Peppy, Casper, and Jingle, all of whom brought him great joy.
He is also survived by his aunts, Sandra Jones and Raphonza Childers, along with their families, and his best friend of more than 20 years, Chip Cassidy (Diane), whose bond with Chuck was one of unwavering friendship and loyalty.
Chuck will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind spirit, quick wit, and willingness to help anyone at any time made him truly one of a kind. He never met a stranger, and his presence left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Though his passing was sudden, the legacy of compassion, service, and friendship that Chuck leaves behind will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm, also to be held at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fur Babies Animal Rescue 3007 Back Stretch Blvd. Indian Trail, NC 28079.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
