Charles Robert Hall, Sr.

Charles Robert Hall, Sr., 88, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Hiriam Jackson and Alice Gray Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Clara Cardin Hall; stepson, Danny Conard; stepdaughter, Sharon Conard; brother, Ray Hall; and a grandson, Bryan Wilson. He was a member of North Belmont Church of God. He was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service and a longtime employee of the Gaston Gazette.

A devout Christian, loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his children, Robbie Hall (Lisa P. Hall), Linda Bost (Steve), Sylvia McLean, and Wanda Freeman (Johnny); his stepchildren, Janis Conard, Nancy Milsaps and Perry Conard; his sisters, Betty Cagle and Retha Melton (John); sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hall will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at North Belmont Church of God with Pastor Carl Overton officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly.
