Christopher Ryan Preston, 42, tragically departed this world on September 13th, 2026. A resident of Iron Station, NC, Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chris was a treasured member of his family, leaving behind a legacy of many cherished memories. He was known for being the life of the party. He is survived by his son, Rylan Meadows-Preston, his parents, Kenneth and Brenda Preston, and his sister, Jennifer Preston Hybarger (Matt). He also leaves behind his brother, Charlie Donaldson (Melanie), as well as his girlfriend, Kayla Campbell, and her son, Jaken. Chris was a proud uncle to his nephew, Layton Hybarger, and nieces, Jaycie Mae and Evie- Kate Hybarger, Keylee and Tinley Donaldson. His aunts, Sherry Webb (Mike), Janice Correll, and Judy Melton (Phil) will forever hold him close in their hearts, along with his uncle, Dwight Preston, and his numerous cousins.
He is now reunited with his grandparents, John C. and Bernice K. Preston, and Fuller "Russ" and JoAnn Russell, uncles Bobby Preston and Keith Correll, and brother Travis Clark.
Chris excelled in his role as a Superintendent, where his talents and dedication earned him the respect and friendship of his co-workers. A free spirit with a tender heart, Chris was known for his infectious laughter and radiant smile that could light up any room.
Among his passions were motorcycles and fishing, whether on the ocean or the lake, adventures he relished with the enthusiasm of a kid at heart. He loved gathering with family, and was a kind and unforgettable soul who touched the hearts of many. Chris's pride in casting his first vote ever, in the last election, for Trump, was a testament to his belief in making a difference.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home. A private celebration of life, for family and co-workers, will be set at a later date.
