Clarence Earnheart , 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was born on July 31, 1930 to Clarence Lloyd Earnheart and Lillian Bailey Earnheart in Mecklenburg County. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Erskine Earnheart, Haskell Earnheart and Johnny Earnheart and a sister, Betty Earnheart Short.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary B. Earnheart; daughters, Ellen Thompson, Anne Hux (Wilson) and Linda Wishon (Johnny); grandchildren, Taylor Thompson (Christi), Anna Garner (John), Patricia Thompson, Ada Horn (Clayton), Will Hux (fiance’ Alex), Lauren Hux, Brad Wishon (Anne Marie) and Garrett Wishon; great-granddaughter, Terra and a great-grandchild expected in June. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Earnheart.
After Clarence graduated from Pfeiffer University, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He had many loves and accomplishments. He was deeply grateful for his life, family, church and his friends. Until his last days, there was no place he would rather be than the outdoors. The fresh air gave him strength. He enjoyed gardening and loved to give his tomatoes to members of his church.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Christ United Methodist Church, Charlotte, NC to be followed by a memorial service at the church at 2:00 pm.
