Dana Yvonne (Petty) Lucas

Dana Yvonne Petty Lucas, 80, was born on July 25, 1946, in Gastonia, North Carolina. On August 13, 2026, she went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Dana was a dedicated, longtime member of Spencer Mountain Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She loved her church, her church  family, and most of all, she loved her Lord.

Dana had a love for music and especially loved to sing. Her beautiful alto voice was a gift that touched the hearts of those who heard it. It was a voice that could never be forgotten and never replaced, and its memory will remain with everyone who had the privilege of hearing her sing.

Above all else, Dana loved her family. Her family was her joy, and the love she gave them will continue to live on through the generations. She leaves behind her son, Michael Lucas (Donna Lucas), and her daughter, Tonya Lucas; her grandchildren, Sabrina Flowe (Aaron Flowe), Aaron Hunt, Brandon Lucas, and MaKayla Lucas; and her great-grandchildren, Tucker Pate and Amanda Flowe. She also leaves behind many other beloved family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Dana was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Petty, and her father, Miller “Doc” Petty.

Though her family will deeply miss her presence, her laughter, her love, her singing voice, and the countless memories she leaves behind, they find comfort in knowing that she is now home with the Lord she loved so dearly.

Her family will carry her love in their hearts, her faith in their lives, and her beautiful voice in their memories.

Until we meet again. Your voice may be quiet here on earth, but the song you left in our hearts will never fade.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 18, 2026 at Spencer Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor William Calvert officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service on Tuesday also at the Church.
